Overview

We are dedicated to helping you achieve your aesthetic goals with precision and care. Our lip lift surgery is designed to enhance the appearance of your lips, creating a more youthful and balanced facial profile. With our expert team of plastic surgeons, you can expect exceptional results and a personalized approach to your cosmetic needs.

What is a Lip Lift?

A lip lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that shortens the space between the nose and the upper lip, resulting in a more pronounced and youthful lip appearance. This procedure enhances the natural curvature of the lips, increases the amount of visible pink lip tissue, and can create a more attractive smile. Unlike fillers, which add volume, a lip lift offers a permanent solution to achieve the desired look.

Benefits

Enhanced Lip Appearance

A lip lift can significantly enhance the shape and fullness of your upper lip, creating a more balanced and attractive appearance. This procedure highlights the natural beauty of your lips without the need for repeated filler injections.

Permanent Results

Unlike temporary lip fillers, a lip lift provides permanent results. You can enjoy your new, youthful lip appearance without the need for ongoing maintenance treatments.

Improved Facial Harmony

By adjusting the proportion of your upper lip, a lip lift can improve overall facial harmony and balance. This subtle enhancement can make a significant difference in your overall look.

Natural-Looking Outcome

Mr Shiatis always aims for a natural-looking outcome. The discreet incision placement and careful suturing result in minimal visible scarring and a beautifully enhanced lip appearance.

The Procedure

  • Anesthesia: The procedure typically involves local anesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the surgery.

  • Incision: A small incision is made just beneath the base of the nose. This discreet location ensures that any scarring is minimal and well-hidden.

  • Tissue Removal: A small strip of skin is removed, and the remaining skin is lifted to shorten the distance between the nose and upper lip.

  • Suturing: The incision is carefully closed with sutures, creating a more lifted and youthful lip appearance.

Healing Timeline

Immediate Post-Surgery

  • First 24-48 Hours: Expect significant swelling and bruising around your lips. Pain is usually manageable with prescribed medications or over-the-counter pain relievers. Apply cold compresses to help with swelling.

  • Care Instructions: Follow your surgeon's guidance on how to manage any dressings and maintain oral hygiene. Stick to a soft diet and avoid hot or spicy foods.

First Week

  • Swelling and Bruising: These will peak in the first 2-3 days and then start to subside. Rest and keep your head elevated to minimize swelling.

  • Activity: Avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting. Most patients can return to normal activities and work within 1-2 weeks.

Two Weeks to One Month

  • Healing Progress: Noticeable improvement in swelling and bruising by the end of the second week. Full results may take up to three months to fully materialize.

  • Stitches: Non-dissolvable stitches are usually removed around 7-10 days. Dissolvable stitches will naturally dissolve.

Long-Term Recovery

  • Scar Care: The scar will initially be pink or reddish but will gradually fade. Use silicone gel or ointments as recommended to enhance scar appearance.

  • Ongoing Monitoring: Continue to follow your surgeon’s advice and contact them if you experience excessive swelling, signs of infection, or severe pain.

Optimal Recovery

  • Head Elevation: Keep your head elevated, even while sleeping, to reduce swelling.

  • Cold Compresses: Apply cold compresses during the first 48 hours to minimize swelling and discomfort.

  • Avoid Smoking and Alcohol: Refrain from smoking and consuming alcohol as they can impede the healing process.

  • Hydration and Nutrition: Stay hydrated and maintain a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals to support healing.
